![]() ![]() Without revenue, I’ll continue to support and develop it more as a labour of love, but user support will minimal and sporadic. I guess that will be something the team will work on when they get a stable version for Mac out. As of today, October 9th 2020, Rekord Buddy is a free app and will become open source software before the end of the year, free for anyone to use and modify as they wish. The only drawback, at least for some, is that the software only supports Mac OS X for the moment, no Windows in sight. Rekord Buddy 2.0 seems to have the potential of being that DJ music management hub, so DJs can prepare their music once, and their synchronize across Serato DJ, Pioneer Rekordbox and Traktor. It’s increasingly becoming a jack of al trades and in their effort to please everyone, the software is more bloated than ever. I use Rekord Buddy to convert my Serato crates across to Rekordbox first (Serato is my main DJ. ![]() Everytime you update your rekordbox USB, you’d have to update you serato crates manually. I agree profoundly with Dan from DJWORX that i-Tunes is not ideal as a DJ music management hub. Easiest would be to create your rekordbox USB and then use those files on the USB to make your serato crates. Some time down the line after that, support will start to be added for other s/w. So for DJs that use more than 1 software for several reasons, the dream of having all cue points, grids and meta data synced across the 3 main DJ apps is almost a reality. Its true that Rekord Buddy will (or should) eventually support VDJ databases, but when it does finally get released it will be Mac only until its been out for a while and settled down, then a Windows version will come. Everything was recognized in Rekord Buddy for the Rekordbox songs, there I see them under Marker Info unfortunately not recognized points in Serato. They’re all kept synced using a central database which is a bit different that how this single-shot tool works. I would like to switch from Rekordbox to Serato with Rekord Buddy, I exported everything and now have the songs in Serato, but without cue points, loops etc. The big news and additional feature over version 1.0 is that you will be able to migrate from and to Serato DJ in addition to Rekordbox and Traktor. Next Audio Lab’s Rekord Buddy 2 was launched last year, and it’s able to handle a number of conversions between Serato, Rekordbox, and Traktor Pro. DJWORX is reporting Next Audio Labs is moving to public beta stage with their long expected Rekord Buddy 2.0.
